engine

I have a 2002 silverado v6 4.3 and I have a complete 2004 silverado v8 4.8. Does any one know if it will work or what I need to do to make it work.

Should be a pretty straight swap. I encourage the swap, you'll enjoy the V8 far more. And while I don't know everything involved, its not that indepth.

Re: engine

Do it!!! If you have mech experiance and can read a book you can do it. They have manuals and CD's that spell it out with pictures if you look for them. I just don't have the link saved.

You won't regret the effort if you DO IT!!!!

Re: engine

Might take some time and effort, but no reason it can't be done. Hopefully the V8 engine you have has the PCM and harness, that'll make life a lot simpler.

I also have an '02 with the 4.3L. I'm want to do a 6.0L swap in the future but it's essentially the same thing going to the 4.8L.

From what I understand the alternator and power steering pump from the V6 will swap but you'll need all other accessories. The '02 V6 PCM is tuneable to the 4.8L but you'll need a new BCM. You'll need motor mounts, engine harness and exhaust.

Good luck.

Silly question, Why do that to a truck that already works ? I would go find another chevy with the engine messing up and slide that thing in there and have 2 trucks

Use one truck as a car and the other as a toy.......

In my case, the original v6 was about to die anyway.
