transaxle

hello all

my sister has a 91 ga
w/2.5 4cyl
3 spd auto trans
the problem is the trans slipping in 1 and 2
i guess seems ok in d
after you have gotton going down the road
i know the fuild has not been changed
just wondering if any body thought
that changing the fluid and filter
would help
or if the trans is shot

thanks

Changing the fluid is a good idea. Dont know if that will solve the problem or not but it might help. Good Luck.

I agree to changing the fluid, its probably got a bunch of crap built up in the clutches. Maybe run some seafoam or lucas through it as well, should help to clear up the problems.

well my dad pulled the car into his garage
and just kind of powed braked it to see how much it was slipping
and then he heard a noise now the car has no forward or reverse
gears

so i'm assuming its shot (now any ways)

so we went to taking it out
should it take 9 hrs just to get the thing out
this is a pain

i changed out a 5 speed manuall transaxle in a honda civic
and put the one back in
in about 6 hrs

i didn't beleive it would be this hard

why did they put it in like that
wow
