i have a problem with my air con on my 1989 xr4x4
i now the system needs filling from the lad i got the car off but the fans dont work at all is this ment to happen when the system is empty or could the fans be fucked
which fan(s). On my 91 Corsica the cooling fan (on radiator) will come on when a/c engaged, but won't when out of freon, unless it gets to temperature required to turn it on for general cooling purposes. the fans inside the car should turn on whether you have freon or not. The compressor just would not engage, nor would the rad fan.
