Engine Stalls Suddenlybats 11-22-2005, 05:50 AM I have a 2.0L 2000 Beetle which in the morning starts fine, when we leave it running to de-ice in the morning after about 5 mins it stalls and it won't start again(doesn't turnover, acts like a flat battery). Lock car and come back in 10 mins it starts again like nothing has happened. Last week a helpful family member crossed the jump leads and tried to start it, Ive had it checked out at dealer who has reset all faults and said it is all clear(his diagnosis was that all the faults may have made the engine shut down) Ive put a new battery on last week, but its done it again this morning(-5C). Ive been told that it may be caused by relay #3, is this possible and can anyone tell me which #3 relay is. It is completely random. PLEASE HELP Scott Kerner 01-07-2006, 12:02 PM Have you figured out what is wrong. I have a 1998 Beetle that will just quit when you are idleing. I let it cool down and it starts back up.
