transmission...shifting delay in higher speeds

98 lumina 3.1 recently developed problems while trying to shift into gear at a higher speed...it hesitates and jerks slightly before going in...filter and fluid was changed at 100000 miles...vehicle now has 165000 miles on it...fluid level shows good..any ideals....think it might b the transmission starting to go out, or maybe something less.

My 99 does this. Assuming fluids are good, it may be a problem with the syncs or shifting solenoids.
