Dex Cool Antifreeze

Hey all, been lurking around here for a bit doing some reading, seems like there is alot of good info on here. Now for my small problem. I bought a 2002 Cavi about a month and a half ago and rearended somone on monday. Anyway, his trailer hitch got my hood dead center and the hood latch folded the rad up. So after some reading on other forums I have noticed that on some chevs they say to get rid of the factory antifreeze as it eats the gaskets or somthing. Is this somthing anyone else has heard? BTW, for all the damage it did, I only hit the guy at like 25Mph and was on the brakes when I did. I should also ask if anyone has had problems with the car rolling more that stopping when the abs kicks in? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Dex Cool Antifreeze

Works for me, I just used some prestone Long life in place of it. As for the abs, it seems to take way to long for the car too stop, My dad has a '95 Dodge 15 passenger van and when the abs was hooked up it stopped really fast compared to this car.

Re: Dex Cool Antifreeze

I have read on here that Dex-cool has a habit of gumming up and should be changed every 3 years as to the 5 years.Dex-cool also protects our engines better than the green stuff. The rule of thumb is,if it came with red, keep red.If it came with green, keep green.
