Belt tensioner

It's me again, same car 1995 corsica 4 cyl. All I need to know now is which pulley is the belt tensioner? I don't want to have to take the alternator back off and risk breaking the belt putting it on. Thanks again.

Re: Belt tensioner

The pulley sits in the middle of a large odd shaped aluminum bracket, unless they have changed them. Unlike a 6 cylinder that has a pulley at the end of a spring loaded arm this thing should have a round flat pc that is partially covered, and the pulley will move with this round pc. Use a 15mm wrench to turn the bolt on the pulley clockwise to loosen pressure on belt.

Thanks a lot js. Reason for me asking is because my dad said it was the pulley most toward the front of the engine and after messing with those I got confused.
