Hello everyone,

Here's is my problem, when I turn on the ignition I have a 10 second tapping noise or thumping noise somewhere near the glove box, below it, on the right side of the truck. I have a 94 silverado 1500 extended cab. Any suggestions. After about 10 seconds it goes away and the truck starts up. Also, I appreciate it. I have to put my muffler back on since it fell off today. I used a accordion kind of extension pipe to run from the muffler to the tail pipe. What size diameter is the tailpipe and do I have to use the kind of extension pipe? Where can I buy a pipe where I don't have to pay out the back side? DOn't wanna go to midas if I don't have to. Wanna fix it myself. Appreciate the help.

Are you saying the truck won't start until the noise stops? About the only thing I've ever heard make any kind of noise under the glove box is the heater/AC blower motor.

As for the exhaust thing, just measure it yourself, and you can get some slip ons and small pieces of pipe and clamps from the auto parts store.
