ecotec question

hey i know this has been covered before in different threads as a general topic.so before you jump down my throat and chew me to pieces i have a very specific question.

i have a 2.2 ohv cavalier form 2001 i want to put in a 2.2 ecotec from 03 or newer. sooooooooooo where can i find all of the parts ( i know i know junkyards) but the problem is that i cant find a junkyard that hasnt just cut the wiring harness. on top of that i need to get everything out of the engine bay for the swap and the problem with that is a junkyard will only sell it to me piece by pice and there has to be a more eficint way of doing things

i am in the detroit area of MI btw

thanx

Re: ecotec question

You have to make engine mounts and find a way to get all the other shit to stay off the pave ment, its going to be very involved. You could always just buy a new wiring harness.

I know you dont want to hear this, but I'm not sure that you are adding everything up. Just the parts for that swap is going to cost LOTS of money. Then you will have a non working car for a few weeks while the swap happens, then you will have to work out the kinks and whatnot. Seriously, just go buy a car with an ecotec. My friend just bought a 03 with like 20k miles for $7500, they arent that expensive. If you sold your car and bought one with an ecotec, you will save some money and not have a car thats jimmy rigged together. Best of luck to you either way, but be sure to think it through, you will be looking at lots of time, lots of money, and LOTS of headache trying to put an ecotec in.
