gas mileage.
What kind of gas mileage do you guys get with your LS models? I'm averaging 22 mpg pretty steady highway/city mixed. I wish it was higher , though, like I was told when I bought it
I'm thinking about changing the air filter, cleaning the throttle body, and injectors and hoping that makes it improve.
So what do you guys get in your LS models? What year?

'02 Impala 9C1 (police cruiser) with 3.8 motor. All highway miles at average 60-70 mph. I've kept track of the mileage for the last 10,000 miles and it gets 29.4 mpg (Imperial gallon)
Not bad for a big car!

ok the other day i ran 200 kms thats 124.28 miles
i averaged 8 liters per 100 kms
8 ltr's = 2.11 gallons
100 kms = 62.14
so i avg'ed 29.45 miles per gallon not bad EH!!!! now if i were using the canadian gallon 4.54 liters per gallon it would be more like 40 mpg

Amazing! A 40 mpg Impala.....You might have the answer to GM's financial problems sitting right in your driveway! Call them right now and tell them to stop misleading the public with THEIR claim that the Impala gets 29 mpg highway. They might even want to purchase your Impala to dismantle it and find out what makes it SO much more efficient then any other Impala that their engineers have ever designed. ( I would hold out for a million $ if it were my car)
Seriously guy......run the test again...at highway speeds...on a level road (if you're idling down a mountain road with the shifter in neutral it doesn't really count)
Let me know what you come up with ...(eh).

Re: gas mileage.
well if you have the DIC, just remember that it is not entirely accurate. I reset mine very fill up and check it on a calculator too, my car will say I averaged like 24 MPG, but when I figure it out its like 20. and most of my milage can be considered highway miles. if your that worried about it there a few things to check.
plugs, wires, tire pressure, fuel filter, air filter, possibly cat, and how you drive and how much city you drive

Re: gas mileage.
wires, plug wires, spark plug wires. most people just refer to them as wires, sorry for the confusion
