It's located on the back passenger side of the engine below the alternator close to the firewall.

Re: Power Steering Cap location

To me that is one of the most assinine locations to put the power steering resivoir. When I wanted to check my power steering fluid level one day, I hunted high and low for it as I'm used to it being mounted on the front of the engine (Old School Chevy V8 guy ) I finally found it "tucked away" on the passenger side by the firewall. I had to rig a funnel with a piece of tubing to be able to add any fluid . More proof that they are making it harder for the average vehicle owner to do simple maintenance on their vehicles. I would have preferred a remote resivoir similar to the overflow tank for the radiator or windshield washer fluid, that is more accesible, ( and of course, smaller )

Re: Re: Power Steering Cap location

yeah I tried to find it one day and couldnt, becuase for it to be where it is is just beyond locical thought, so I had to look in the manual, and even then its still pretty hidden.

Re: Re: Re: Power Steering Cap location

The guys with the 3.4L Impalas are lucky. Power steering pump is in a great location. It's so obvious it's not funny.

Changing out the power steering pump on a SII 3800 is a PITA too.
