anyone know what the diameter is for pipe going to the muffler on a 04?

Why dont you measure it? You could just jack up the back, wrap a string around the outside of the pipe, mark off on the string where the string gets all the way around, and divide the number by pi (~3.14) and you will have a pretty good guess.

Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order.
