KN&N Oil filter

I did a search on this and came up with nothing. I'm due for an oil change really soon. I was looking at those KN&N oil filters. Does anyone know if they are good or not?

A website that has them and info about them. I'd just go to Advanced Auto and pick one up instead of shipping one to me.

The argument will go both ways. I have used them on both my Cavy and Honda. It's like, no difference. I usually use the Fram Sure Grip though, just because I can always find it for my Honda, and when I change my oil I do them both at the same time.

If you really want to do something fun for your car, a nice $60 project. Get a filter relocation kit, and get one of the kits that has adaptors for 2 filters. From what I hear 2 filters will make your car run a little better but the oil will also break down faster... Just my two cents.

they do flow more, maybe 3-4HP gain. Also you will get a bit better gas mileage.

Why take a chance with your engine and oil pressure.
AC-delco oil filter is the best for your car.
For years on a lot of GM cars people have ran into oil pressure issues going to any other kind of filter.
There is a post on oil filter survey around here someplace.
Run a search for it.

That's bullshit...how do you figure an oil filter gives you more horsepower? If the oil filter isn't letting enough oil flow through, there's a bypass.....the only way i could see an oil filter doing anything but filtering oil is if the filter had heat fins on it so that it lowered your oil temp. Thats nothing you need to worry about unless you're pushin 700whp+

With my GSR i stick w/ OEM Honda oil filters and those do just fine....If you want to notice a difference, get some Royal Purple Oil or Mobil 1 Full Synthetic.......i'll swear by Royal Purple in my GSR!

Never use Fram!Go with AC Delco,Wix,Purolator.K&N are good,but for what they cost.............crazy.

its true b/c i have one i payed $38 for it at autozone
all it does is help you go longer with out an oil change and helps keep everything smoother for more power for best results use royal purple dont matter if you have a 4 banger or not if you ride it hard these two will help

ok we're talking about oil filters......and they pretty much do the same damn thing no matter what you drive. The only way to free up some power is to get a better oil i.e. Royal Purple.

An oil filter isn't going to do a damn thing as far as power. True there are good and bad ones, but you will not notice a difference in hp. I really hope you didn't pay $38 for a damn oil filter....

lol i didnt really read the whole thread, i thought he was talking about airfilters that use Oil and cotton. LOL.

but no some oil filters do work better than others. They last longer and get more out.

An employee at Napa told me that the K&N oil filters actually have a larger-micron (10mic) filter then AC Delco (9mic). So in THEORY the K&N would flow better, but not catch as much dirt as the smaller-micron AC Delco filter. For the cash difference, you're getting better protection for your dollar with AC Delco. I bought a K&N oil filter once long ago and didn't notice a difference in power, just a lighter wallet, which I guess would reduce your power to weight ratio, lol!

i can see air filters helping of course, but oil filters are oil filters....some are better than others, but i just stick to OEM Honda stuff and stay away from Fram.

K&N and Fram and STP are all the same stuff. We sell all of them at autozone, and when customers ask what the difference is, the only thing I can say is price. I reccomend Fram for air and oil filters, personally.

Thanks to you all who helped me out on this. I just wasn't sure if there would be a real big difference. But I guess this debate......discusion (sp?) rather, could go both ways.
