Huge Problem With Smog

ok i read that when they hook up the obd 2 to you car it reads codes, if it reads a code that to do with emssions, you fail, ok well i hooked up my car so the fans turn on when the car turns on, now that got the check engine light to come on, when i got the light off but the code still reads with an obd 2, its something to day with the battery, not emmsions, will i still fail...Thanks Nick

You will probably get a code 12, which is "Battery has been disconnected within the last 50 key-on cyles." Which means, car is probably not ready for emissions testing. You can reset your PCM by pulling the fuel pump fuse (20A) from your PDC for about 5-10 minutes. Then try the key-dance and all you should get is a code 55, which means end of codes, ready for testing!!!
