I removed part of my air box to make way for an unrestricted air intake which im pretty happy with.

My question is.

Is it possible to remove the "lower" part of the air box that holds the PCM? and if so, where can the PCM be relocated? Ill assume somewhere close to where it was originally sitting.

Any help in this issue is greatly appreciated.

Also, I tried to attach some photos to this post to help people better understand what im talking about, is there some other html code to use here that will allow me to do this?

well for the photos you can do this. go to http://photobucket.com/ and create a free account, then you can upload all you photos there and just copy the img code and paste it in here and voila, pic.

and yes its possible to take out the lower part that holds the pcm, just pull out the pcm, you DONT have to disconnect it, and I beleive there are 2 or 3 push pins or screws, but thats all that hold the bottom part on. but you can either make your own(cheaper) or buy one of these http://www.zzperformance.com/products1.php?id=91

its just a metal plate with holes to accomodate those original push pins then a bungee cord or something to hold the pcm down. but I would suggest, since that the pcm is safe in the air box, that if you remove it to wrap it in plastic or something to still keep it protected.

thank you for the reply. I will most likely look into purchasing a tray for the PCM. I Dont want to take any chances.

Seeing how the stock air box has some sort of piping that diverts air into the intake, what would be suggested for my circumstance? would you reccomend a similar set up? or would the intake be able to suck in enuff air without any sort of air diversion.

I dont quite follow. I thought you made your own air intake and you wanted a new way to hold the pcm. some pics will help.

are you looking into un-restricting the air box, or did you do it already. the stock air box just has that tubing in there because that is where it gets the air from, behind the headlight, that tube in there is what the air travels thri to get to the filter then into the TB tube then into the TB. so that tube doesnt divert air, it routes it into the intake, not away from it.

I dont know exactly what your asking, so some pics will definitly help.

i didnt bother covering mine just used some bungees lol
i have sen other cars from GM IE the grand prix and several trucks that dont have the PCM covered so i thought since im going to replace it fugg it

Well I'm to cheap to spend $49.99 on a PCM bracket. Not to mention I'm to lazy and can't be bothered to even try to make a PCM bracket. When I can buy one from GM for only $15.97. The GM part number for all those who care is : 15995679 . I believe it may be OEM stuff for a Blazer. I could be wrong. All I know is it fits like a glove. No not OJ's Its midnight here so I'll try and get a couple of pics in the morning so yall can see.
