Okay let's play catch up for those who don't know what i'm talking about

1.Dude buys 305 Camaro
1a.Dude is excited to work on Camaro
............................................
*fast forwards*
9.Dude discovers Camaro is almost trash
10.Dude decides to put v8 in japanesehatchback, stows Camaro away
11.Dude is faced with decision of paying for his own health insurance or going to college for another semester, saving 1k
12.Dude realizes he can't get to school without a car
13.Dude STILL wants to put v8 in japanesehatchback

I'm going to fix up the Camaro for as little as I can, pull the nissan off insurance, insure the camaro, get it inspected, and voila, V8 Third Gen Beater. Hey atleast gas went down :naughty:

Discuss whatever you want, my soul is prepared.
It needs new brakes, new exhaust, hopefully the engine doesn't die, the rest of the car is in working condition, wiring needs to be fixed. Hopefully(once again) this all comes under a grand which I have on reserve.

It would be fun though If I could atleast convert to 5 speed, is there anyway I could afford a t5 for 500? anyone?

personally, i think you made the right decision.. the 305 belongs in the IROC, unless of course you put something bigger in.. glad you're drivin a maro again

It looks like the engine will need some tuning, I still need to fix the misfiring, which I believe RS said was the ICM. The powersteering fluid leaked all over the garage but i'm sure I can fix that easily enough. When I start the engine, it sounds great but the engine runs slowly...I can't explain it, It sounds like the engine will die at any minute... but it doesn't, it keeps running. it needs fuel though maybe that has something to do with it.

Thanks for the luck!

How did powersteering fluid get everywhere? If you got a leak its probably the hose.. thats what happend with me. It sucks..

There's a quick story about this, with my dad, an oil leak is a problem, a fuel leak is a problem, but that's NOTHING compared to the damn antifreeze "I'm not wasting this stuff for what it costs"

So the next day while working on the brakes, I notice a 'new' leak, discover it's the power steering and I complain, we really should get under there and fix it, it's leaking all over the place!! "It's just the power steering fluid, I've got plenty left" Now we're soaking it up with newspapers but damn, i always thought, a leak is a leak.

That sucks, so why dont you just go ahead and take a look at it, if your dad doesnt.

Because I'm lazy. I've had midterms this and last week so almost no time to work on the camaro. Plus the front brakes are going on the nissan(squealing), so it's a matter of priorities. I'll take a look at the leak under the 305 tomorrow and maybe get some gas for it.
