Try some "Disc Brake Quiet". Worked for me.

ON THE BACK OF THE PADS! Not ON the pads themselves!

Re: Re: squeeking noise
When was the last time you did a brake job? That noise could be a indication that its time for the brakes to be replaced.

Re: squeeking noise
If you have a squeak and it goes away when you apply the brakes means you need to replace your worn front brake pads.

I hope you didn't spray that on your pads Girlbear, only on the back!

Re: squeeking noise
yeah, sometimes theres a wear sensor thats exposed because your break pads are worn so much. I would definately look into getting new break pads.

Re: squeeking noise
Completely agree when you hear the squeek before you apply the brakes and it goes away when the brakes are applied it means your pads are ready to be replaced soon. If you hear the squeeking then hear a grinding when you apply the brakes you have eaten through the pad and you are now ruining your disc and you may not be able to turn it, may have to purchase brand new.

Re: squeeking noise
Yep I agree with the others, if they squeal and stop when the brakes are applied, it usually means that it's time for a brake job.
GirlBear, I see that you taped off the pads so none could get on the friction material..... good job.
