Exclamation 97 Bloazer Vacuum Ball..NEEDED!!

While trying to fix my on going problem of heat only coming thru the floor and defrost......Darling hubby broke the vacuum ball/tank under the hood while trying to remove the vacuum line that I had already replaced. In doing this he broke off the inlet on the ball so that the line can no longer attach. After super glue and J.B. weld...no luck on getting it to work. So I am in a desperate search to find a replacement ball/tank but am not having any luck what so ever....any body got an idea?

In the mean time... I have learned the following:

1. Transmission fluid will fill up in you vacuum ball/tank if the vacuum switch/valve is faulty.

2. Pulling the dash apart to get to the accuater behind the radio and glove compartment won't get you too it.

3. Replacing the control knob for the a/c and heat still hasn't fixed my problem.

4. Replacing the vacuum lines hasn't fixed my problem either.

5.. The good news... I now have my 4wd back...now that the vacuum switch has been replaced!!

Hope this helps some...at least gives you a good laugh.

Please let me know if there Is ANYONE who knows where I can get that vacuum ball/tank!

This is actually a TSB... What happenes is sometimes when the transfercase vac switch becomes flakey, it will increase pressure and start throwing fluid up to the hvac actuator behind the ashtray...Sometimes it can get bad enough to fill the ashtray itself...

Re: 97 Bloazer Vacuum Ball..NEEDED!!

Ok, this is a somewhat relavent question? What would cause the vacuum ball to collapse? Awhile ago, I opened the hood on my truck, 89 S-10 4.3L (auto, 4x4) and the vacuum ball was caved in. I was just curious on why this would happen. I just robbed another off of an truck we had in the windbreak to fix it....

Just curious

Somthing must of come down on it... Those things are hard plastic, in order for it to cave in, something must have hit it. Normally just the hose nipple breaks on them...
