You will need to jump pins 4 & 8 on your 16 pin ALDL connector hanging on the base of your dash below your steering column. Make a fused jumper by soldering two medium gage coated wires to a 5 amp fuse. You can just use a paper clip but I'm giving you the safest method.

Pin 4 is in the 4th square hole from the top left. Pin 8 is in the last hole of the top row - the farthest right.

Once you have inserted the jumper you will hear the door locks cycle. Press any button on your remote within 5 seconds; you should once again hear the locks cycle and the remote should now operate your doors and hatch after you remove the jumper. If you have more than one remote to program, do the other quickly after the first without removing the 4 & 8 pin jumper you made. You will hear the locks cycle just like the first remote.

Regards

I found a different procedure...

Programming procedure:

Ground the program input line by connecting a fused jumper at the Data Link Connector (DLC) from terminal "G" to terminal "A" (note: use terminal G and A for pre '95 12 pin DLC. A is the top right pin and G is the bottom left. Use terminals 4 and 8 for the '95 16 pin DLC. The 16 pin DLC connector is numbered top left (1) to top right (8) and bottom left (9) to bottom right (16) ). The Receiver will cycle the Door Lock Actuators within one to three seconds to acknowledge that the Receiver is in the "PROGRAM" mode.

Press any button on the Transmitter once. In response, the Receiver will cycle the Door Lock Actuators to acknowledge that a transmission has been received.

Press any button on the second Transmitter once. In response, the Receiver will cycle the Door Lock Actuators to acknowledge that a transmission has been received.

Remove the fused jumper from the DLC and verify system operation using all three Transmitter buttons.
