exhaust question

haha....god i hate this stupid dynomax super turbo muffler even more so now.....my question is at low rpms, between 1600 and 1900 the exhaust has started whistling....at any other rpms i can hear the exhaust and thats good but when the whistling starts the sound of the exhaust cuts out and whistling is all that can be heard....i checked the muffler and there is no hole, its not that kind of sound because i have had a hole in a muffler before and i cant find any exhaust leak....it just started doing this a couple days ago after having the muffler on for a couple months....any ideas what to look for? any help would be great! its driving me crazy!!

Go see Bubbrubb and see if it goes "Woooo wooooo!"

I think you just hit it with a hammer and see if anything rattles.

Re: exhaust question

i was told you can take a hammer or screw driver and make a small hole and let all those beads out and that will be a temporary fix til i get time to fix it and put a straight pipe on it....any input on this? thanks!

Re: Re: exhaust question

If you put a hole in it to do that make sure to weld it back up or it will sound like crap.

Re: exhaust question

kinda changing the subject....my uncle drove my car and said it sounds like the rear end is doing the whining because everything with the exhaust seems okay....how can you check the rear end? if it is going bad to change it can you change the gears in it or do you need to swap the whole rear end? thanks for the help!

im pretty sure its not the fuel pump...it seems okay....im thinking rear end or maybe wheel bearings because for a long time i could go around a real sharp turn and stomp it and i could hear something whining that i assumed was the rear end but now its got to where it does it all the time at low rpms and so loud at first i thought it might have been the exhaust which i dont think its that now....but thanks for the help....how would you check a fuel pump to see if its going bad?
