1990 Cavalier daytime running lights

ok, I did a bit of googling and actually found someone here mention the black box on the fender by the battery, saying it should be the daytime running lights controller, and you could probably disable the DRLs just by disconnecting it. So today this is what I tried, and it appears to be successful. I've got the DRL controller out of mine now and I haven't noticed any side-effects as of yet. No more DRLs, all lights still functioning correctly. The only side-effect I've read about that I'm not sure I might have is the DRL indicator in the dash flashing. I long ago removed that bulb in my dash, so if it is supposed to be flashing right now I've got no way to tell without ripping the dash open and putting a light bulb back in there. No, thanks. I'm happy. I've got some pics of the device here. http://www3.telus.net/~phuncky/CavalierDRLs/
