gunnyb AF Newbie Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina Posts: 3	Running hot I have a 1995 4Runner that keeps running hot. I've replaced the Radiator and Thermostat but it keeps running hot. There is no leaking when it has been sitting still. I can fill the radiator up prior to driving and still it will run hot. What could be the problem? Water pump? I' lost.

Could also be your radiator. See if some spots are alot cooler than others, indicating a stopped up portion of the core. I'm using 50/50 coolant. V6 engine. It runs good until it heats up.

From what you've told me, I think it is the water pump. Because once this thing gets hot, it dosen't matter if it's standing still or moving the temp guage stays on H

Don't forget to check the radiator for blockage. I guess it's not likely to be the radiator, but it's a test you can do without any work or time other than heating the engine up.
