How do I replace the wiper blades on my 89 Blazer?

I must be an idiot because I cannot figure out how to do this. It's bad cause it's been pouring rain here, and I kind of need those on there.

I'll tell you what my ex girlfriend did before we met.

When it was raining she'd buy wipers in the parts store, then act helpless.

She said that someone would always feel bad and put them on for her for free.

If I think of it I'll look tomorrow,l but it's always a little hard to explain the procedure for that

No need to act dumb...just Smile...

I am sure Advance Auto or any of the other chain stores will gladly change the blades for you...

It is quite easy, however, it is hard to explain in words...

I think I'm just gonna have to do that. I have been wrestling with those damn things for the last hour. Thankfully it's stopped raining, so it isn't dangerous to not have them right now.

Actually they come apart rather easily. Just flex the blade back (at the pivot point where it attaches to the arm), and with a flat blade screw driver inserted between the wiper assembly and the arm, a slight twist is all it should take. It'll pop right off.

Lissa;
go to a super walmart if you have one near by , they change your wiper blades for free, you just have to pay for the blades

I didn't know that. That's where I bought the stupid things at in the first place. Thank you.

Some of the blades have a spring that you have to push in from the back of the blade to release it from the wiper arm . But there are so many aftermarket blades and I hope you don't still have the factory blades on it after sixteen years . Just bat your eyelashes and some one will get-r-done fer you . Rob

I'd be leary of letting any Wal-Mart employee touch my car.

Bending the wiper blade back at the pivot point releases the spring, inserting a flat blade screw driver (in between the arm and blade) to give a little twist will pop them right off, doesn't even take enough pressure to mar the finish onthe wiper arm.

That would be sweet....

I tried the screwdriver thing, but I don't think I did it right. That sucker is damn near welded on.

Rmbodie, I don't know if the factory blades are the ones still on there or not. I just got my little beast in June. If I were to have bought it when it was new, I would have been 5 years old. :)
