Neon - noise on start up

I have 2002 Dodge neon 2l

problem

On colder start up days the engind sounds like a " tractor " for the first 30-45 seconds and then smooths out

occationally, once every couple of months, i get a loud tic sound for the first 30-45 seconds like it is not getting any oil -- this is very loud and I think the engine is going to blow up

the dealer is having trouble figuring it out and the loud noise is randome and i can't get it to do it at the dealer -- can anybody help

Many thanks

What weight of oil do you have in it? I have found that I have to run 5w-30 in mine to keep the 'rattles' down.

As said, the weight of the oil or lack of oil could be your problem. The noise you are describing is probably "dieseling". Common on the neon. Google it and find some info.
