914 engine swap?tgwesty 11-02-2005, 10:28 AM I own a 73 914 with a blown engine, will a 72 VW Beetle engine easily go in place of the original engine? This way I can still drive my car while the original engine gets rebuilt. Thanks for any info. Mike431635 11-17-2005, 07:32 PM Yes, I believe these two motors have the same mounts and are interchangable in your 914. A friend and I are putting a 2003 Subaru WRX engine in his 73 914, so we're getting out of the VW/Porsche engine group altogether :) tgwesty 11-18-2005, 08:37 AM Yes, I believe these two motors have the same mounts and are interchangable in your 914.
