automatic transmission issues

I just got my Cobalt (base) at the end of August, and it has about 2000 miles on it. I've recently been having some problems with the transmission. Whenever I drive in reverse for a bit, park for a minute, and then try to put it in drive, it just hangs there, revving in park, even though it's clearly in "D". The only way to get it to move is to put it in reverse and then back into drive. Going from drive to park won't seem to fix the problem. I've had it happen twice already, but it never happens when I'm trying to show it to someone. I think the guys at the dealership won't believe me if doesn't happen in front of them. Also, my CD player seems to be on the fringe lately. It'll just display the track number when I start the engine, and won't even eject the CD unless switching over to the radio first, and then switching back to the CD player. When it finally does eject it says "none." It'll work most of the time, but working all of the time would be better. Would it be worth getting these things looked at (while it's still under warranty)? I don't really want the guys at the dealership to just make things worse by trying to fix these things. Any comments/advice? Has anyone else been having any similar problems?

Re: automatic transmission issues

The tranny I'd get checked out right away. It's covered under warranty. And even if they can't find a problem (let alone a solution), it'll be documented.

The cd player I believe is starting to become a common problem in cobalts. Mine does the same thing, though very rarely. The solution seems to be replace the deck, but the dealer won't do it unless they have a service bulletin for it, and I'm not sure there is one yet. But at least it'll be documented in their system so when it DOES get a recall or a bulletin, they should call you.

Either way, take it to the dealer. They're great, they've helped me out tremendously every time I bring mine in for the smallest, often self-perceived silliest things, but they've always been patient and looked into things.

Oh, and it's a TSB that I was talking about, a technical service bulletin. It wouldn't come to me while I was writing the post.

Anyone know of an official place to check TSB's on a car? That might help.
