Just how much do you know...NissanElitist 10-31-2005, 02:13 AM Someone start a technical debate... KA vs. SR is too old, think of something new. R.W.240 10-31-2005, 02:17 AM Who is better built? Johnny 5 or that one robot from Lost in Space. I think it would be the lost in space robot, just because the future > the 80s NissanElitist 10-31-2005, 02:18 AM Who is better built? It must be 240SX related. D-Bo 10-31-2005, 06:20 PM who the hell is this ^ guy???? r.w. imo 80s>* (especially the tight jeans and music) JOHNNY V TRUBO_89 10-31-2005, 06:24 PM Lost in Space loved that show when i was a kid nissanfanatic 10-31-2005, 06:56 PM who the hell is this ^ guy???? Get on a "real" nissan forum... Like NICO. And on there, he is Nismo Freak. Bikirom Vs Enthalpy. Simplicity vs total control I personally would still go with an Enthalpy tune for the simple basis that it is plug and play. My first tune plugged right in and the car drove well even despite the deatschwerks mixup. No doubt, being able to custom tune your car is pretty sweet, I'd take the "generic" tune just because I want to drive my car more than I want to sit and tune it. NTM, I kinda like the "safe side" approach of the tuned ECU because I also want to be able to beat the shit out of my car on a daily basis and not have it blow because I was "riding the edge" in terms of tune. NiSmO_zt 10-31-2005, 09:03 PM personally, i like the robot from "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy," that dude is cool, and funny looking NissanElitist 10-31-2005, 09:30 PM Get on a "real" nissan forum... A little bit undecided on that. The Enthalpy ECU has the benefit of being uniform, whereas the Bikirom is dependent solely on the ability of the tuner. NissanElitist 10-31-2005, 09:32 PM who the hell is this ^ guy???? Noob nissanfanatic 10-31-2005, 10:49 PM Werd. I'd like to hang out with someone who owns the Bikirom for a day and see exactly what goes into tuning/running one of them. The USB port makes it sound interesting too. No: remove chips, burn, re-install. driftking777 10-31-2005, 11:19 PM i personally am sold on enthalpy...my rx7 project might be running an aem stand alone though due to me having free dyno, and aem tuning... :) TatII 11-01-2005, 12:08 AM thats nismo freak? sup i'm s14tat on nico. anyways i prefer a cookie cutter ecu tune just like what nissanfanatic said. the basic ignition and fuel maps are alreay there for you. all you gotta do is fine tune it yourself. even if the basic tune is off by alot, your atleast still in the ball park area where as for a custom daughter board like the bikirom its got these cells that you gotta deal with and too many numbers that you gotta deal with. there are plenty of people running custom tunes with great sucess like nissanfanatic, structure, orion, and i guess you can count me since i still haven't blown my ka-t yet after 2.5 years even though my power numbers are probrably well below theirs. i would never go standalone though. its almost impossible to tune every single throttle angle under every different loads. it would probrably drive decent on the highway but for stop go traffic like i get in nyc, it would be a night mare. sidewayzS13 11-01-2005, 02:00 AM when will they make a real life transformer car? i loved transformers when i was little nissanfanatic 11-01-2005, 04:58 PM Man.... I swear by the end...I will own at least one car that runs at least an EMS. I just wanna what its like.. Pavlo 11-01-2005, 07:26 PM I prefer Bikirom, it is not for someone who is interested in just some basic program for daily driver though. With Bikirom you can tune the ECU to your standarts, move things around and you can always change. But very important thing: you can also blow your engine up if you mess something up because of stupidity or simply by overlooking things. I am personally a fan of doing something myself, I read literature on tunning engines right now and it is definitely not for beginers. This discusion is totaly biased though, personaly if going with simplicity Enthalpy is definitely the choice. If you are going for high hp, going to change things around often, always trying to improve somthing or just like having the ability to change your setup whenever you want Bikirom is for you, BUT if you are bad with tunning cars, leave it to the professionals. nissanfanatic 11-01-2005, 10:58 PM Thats the thing tho... You need to be pretty damn good at tuning cars to make this actually work to your advantage.. Not that I'm not a fan of DIY, but this is way past DIY. This is like making the metal to weld up your downpipe.lol Pavlo 11-02-2005, 05:40 PM Well that is somewhat what I ment, as without a dyno (few of us have it) or extra money, wideband O2 sensor, and definitely the skill, most of us will have very little use of Bikirom. It's potential opens to people with tools and knowledge. But the nice thing is that when you do learn to do all that and have ability to do so you are then open to not only changing few things but also you will be able to tune practically any engine, which for me would be the reward for going through the pain.
