So this guy at work thinks his buddy's Neon is "crazy fast yo" because he has a JDM exhaust( ) and a "Viper Chip" ECU. He says that this Neon easily walks stockish SRT4s and would give my Camaro a whooping. Now, I know that there is NO naturally aspirated car that will get THAT much power from JUST a chip. I'm guessing there MAY be a CAI. Oh, and can't forget his JDM exhaust(again... ). I just wanted to know if there even is anything even called a "Viper Chip." He says the car is definitely not turbo, so I seriously doubt he has any clue as to what the hell he is talking about. Or at least no idea as to what the hell fast means.

And for your guys' enjoyment... he was claiming that there is a JDM engine that Ford guys like to drop into their cars. Upon hearing this I about shit myself laughing

He doesn't know the year, but for the sake of argument, I don't care.

I have been around and worked on neons for quite some time now and I have no idea what a "Viper chip" is...I would say he's BS'ing you big time. People like that are what give us compact car enthusiasts a bad wrap! I doubt the exhaust gave him more that 5HP tops, so there is no way he could beat your camaro or an SRT. To even try and keep up with your camaro or the SRT, he would have to be boosted or running a 75-100 shot of nitrous.

haha, i like these guys. he probably bought one of those "miracle chips" off of ebay. its just a sensor that lies to your map/maf! it will net you maybe 5hp, that is if it doesnt make your car run like crap. intake, and by jdm, he means a cheap japanese knock off exhaust!

if he wants to run an srt, send him out here to nor cal. we can show him whats up with these slow srt4s
