intermittent short circuit

my '99 cherokee died. diagnosis was the crank sensor. replaced it, ran for a few days and died again. fuse #11 was blown. new diagnosis...dead short. replaced the fuse without knowing why it fried. probably only a matter of time before it fries again but can't find the source until it does. anyone out there have a similar problem?

Re: intermittent short circuit

what is fuse #11 for? Some people have reported that the wires to the crank sensor have been melted and shorted out by the hot exhaust. I'm not sure of the lay out on the 99.
