I took a trip to the Nissan forums and not only is everyone ignoring me, I read a thread where they said they never wanted to here about the LS1 swap or chevy V8s again in a nissan thread.
I'm making more enemies and I haven't even decided to do anything yet. Plus, I'm about to make everyone mad here too( maybe by saying that, you won't get mad and will just throw me out without a beating)
I don't hate camaros, I just hate that I bought a camaro, since it costs too much to fix, and I'm considering my options, like a v8 240sx...*stays low*
The funny thing here is that I always said to myself, I wouldn't mix car companies, let alone countries, ever since my friend in college told me to not put a big block into a hyundai tiburon But I actually think this is a good idea. It's a great sound, it handles better, and It's a fun project where I can focus on one car. BUT i haven't decided to do it, mostly because everyone gets mad at me(nissan and chevy forums) I'm indecisive also.
Is there a custom forum on AF where the mods know everything about cars and no one flames which company is better? Thanks (P.S. I love this forum, I swear, you guys are the biggest post whores ever)
That car is gonna look like a ballpark pretzel. Those unibodys weren't made for that kind of torque.
If you think about it, the car handles a pickup truck engine's torque fine and it handles more torque than most japanese sport coupes..what's the point of arguing? I already have one!
I had a friend in the late 80s who asked me to help install a 350 into a '75 280z. Did that, plus an M22 rock crusher - aside from getting my right wrist nearly broken from the shifter during an upshift with a failed synchro, that car was really fun to drive. The rear-end on it was very strong and handled the 320-hp level of the 350 just fine. One thing I really liked about that setup is aside from custom exhaust leading to the rams-horn style exhaust manifolds we installed on it, that engine bay must have been designed with the 350 in mind - the mounts lined up, could get to all 8 spark plugs painlessly, and the distributor was a cool 3" from the firewall. It fit in there like a glove. All we had to do was take the top half of the old style Chevy mounts and weld them to the bottom halfs of the Z mounts. There was even about 3" of clearance between the fan and the radiator. We fabricated a crossmember for the transmission.
Brings back many pleasant memories. Took it down to Firebird Raceway and got 11.32 @ 105 mph at the traps. That car turned many a head.
That's hot but that's still a datsun zx right? I'm talking about the early 90's nissan 240sx. Still that was a great vid, did he drive into traffic? love that sound!
