Need Advice:Convertible Top Painting Question

i wanted to paint my car.... but the top it tan and the current color of my 1994 chrysler lebaron is like a burgundy.... which is not too great it almost looks like a purple ! i hate it , its the only thing i hate about my car really.. so i wanna paint the car but a new top would cost me like $250 or so... so i would like a paint suggestion to go with the tan top... i wanted a black but i dont think that will look good.? also is it possible to paint a convertible top?!!?! it is in pretty good shape
