Accord questions

Hey guys, My wife's accord has just turned over 75k miles, and the "maintenance required" indicator came on. Can anyone tell me what the required maintenance is for 75K? Also, can anyone tell me how to switch the indicator back, or reset it? I drive an 89 civic hatchback, so I don't encounter these things. Thanks for the help!

Usually there's a slot for you to insert your key right below or near the indicator itself.

That applies for 4 & 5 gen Accords (90-97).

For 6gen Accord (98-02), you have to press and hold trip odometer reset botton for 10sec with ignition key in "ON" position (engine not running).

You need to change Timing belt, and it would be a good idea to change the water pump too. Also, make sure that all fluids are good.

my old reliable '91 has hit 129k. besides checking the timing belt, and water pump/hoses, what else should i have checked? if anything, other than the fluids. a couple months ago i got a new radiator(new coolant of course), so i dont have to worry about that.

but is there anything else?
thanks.

Usually, at 75,000 miles, you're supposed to get a full car check-up, however, I don't know if that's why your "maintenance required" light is on. Hope I helped.

Check this out, your maintenance required light as you say is actually just a switch that flips through 3 colors, green to yellow then to red.. All it means is that you need to change your oil and check all your other fluids.. Your check engine light however means you have a fuel or an emissions problem, usually just a sensor.. As far as the 75k thing, yea you should change your belts, but heres a better way to go about it then going somewhere and having them rob your pocket..Go to your nearest Honda dealers service department and ask for a list of all the maintenance requirements for the life of the vehicle.. It breaks it down from the time you buy the car, until about 175,000 or so.. I.E. 3000, 7500, 15000, 30000, 45,000, 60000 and so on, this little chart will tell you what is recommended at each level of milage.. Hope this helps ya and saves ya some money in the long run.. Some will tell all kinds of crap needs to be done when in actuallity it does not... Email if you got any more questions, I'd be glad to help...

I just got mine taken in with 112K on it, and they had to replace the radiator and the brake lights. Has anyone had their brake lights go out on them? I've replaced mine more than once, both times at over 90K. Does this seem really odd or did I just get the shaft?
