Making a try at a vector to PS colored drawing

This is my first big try at coloring a design in PS after creating a vector drawing.
Black lines are the "hard" outline areas and the red ones, on a different layer, will become the reflection/shading zones.
Not a great sun angle on the ref pic, light source was almost straight above.

Made this in Acrylic, now must convert it to Illy then on to PS.
(Can't get the direct export feature to work properly.)

Hope it works.

Got this far, discovered many mistakes in the original
line drawing that appeared after converting the file to PS.
Selecting areas to fill has been a problem.
About ready to purge and start all over. :banghead:

Spent some more time watching the tutorial made by Lemorris.
He makes it look so easy.

Thanks.

I got this much done and that will be about all.
The original line art needs a good reworking.)

Learned a lot about this technique, (thanks again Lemorris), but still have so much more to do.

Thanks Lemorris, I'm more amazed now then ever, at how fast you turn out images using this techinque.

The vector line art has to be perfect, to get this style to work well in PS.

well I wouldn't say it has to be perfect...it helps to know where you're going though.

ensuring that your highlight lines intersect is important. besing able to see to the end is important. As you know you drawing looks incomplete until almost the very end. I struggle with sticking with it and trusting that my line art will translate well. Seeing it in just line form for so long can play tricks on your mind.

You did well.

I'd like to see more.

Thanks, I working on a few more between finishing a couple commissioned projects.
Also, had a client use some toons for their ad in a few of the bigger Mustang speciality magazines.
I'll try to post a copy of the ad later.

oooohh this is right up my alley. I'm still using redundant ass MSPaint though. Sweet stuff! (youre missing the passenger side mirror though).

Shpyder--thanks, yep, besides the mirror, didn't do wheel details or finish the interior.
This was more of a practice drawing to try learning a new technique.
