I thinkl I need to replace the front abs sensors on my 99 explorer. What is the best way to perform this?

Follow wires to the connection, unplug connector, remove small bolt that holds the sensor to the back of steering knuckle, spray penetrating oil on outer edge of sensor, twist until it comes free. When you install, use some fine sandpaper and remove rust from the mounting hole.
