Alarm Problem
Hey guys, I got a 96 3.8 auto, and when i bought it (used), the lock/unlock/trunk/alarm button-key wasnt working, still isnt (had the car for 2 days now, loving it). So i need to unlock the door with the key, once i do that, 3 seconds later, the alarm goes off, and i have to race to get the key in the ignition to start it. It doesnt have a manual, im gonna be buying one, but if any of you guys now how to fix my problem, that would be great.

Re: Alarm Problem
yes i have, last night in fact, and it did not help, waste of 4 dollars, it seems the person who owned it before me did a stupid thing and stuck a pen into the unlock button, because it has a hole in it, and has ink on the chip board. if i could figure out how the alarm system worked, that would be a great step to not having to jump in my car, and turning the key in world record times.

Re: Alarm Problem
otherwise you'll hafta purchase a new or used remote and have it programmed to your car. you can prolly find one for cheap on ebay, and i'm sure someone here can explain how to program it to you.

Re: Alarm Problem
alright, so i get that, but until then, is there anyway to stop the alarm from going off after unlocking the door? it kinda odd for it to go off, after ive gotten into the car with a key, not a crowbar.

Re: Alarm Problem
look and see if there's a fuse you can pull to disable it.
