96 Pontiac Grand am ABS lightsolid7x2 10-17-2005, 09:41 PM My car just rolled over 100k, and ive been havin some wierd issues. Ill be driving and everything is normal, then my ABS light will come on. If i keep my foot on the same place on the gas, the rpm goes from about 2 to about 2.75-3. It feels like the amount of gas I give the car doesnt really push the car like it should. If I come to a complete stop and give it a little gas, its really really slow to move, when usually it has a bit of a kick from complete halt. Also when Im highway driving and this happens, when Im in drive and the RPMs are way up, as soon as I let off the gas the RPMs crash to 0.75-1ish. Its really wierd. This has happened as soon as I turn on my car coming out of a parking lot, after ive driven it for half an hour, an hour, after being cold for a couple days, ect. so im pretty sure it has nothing to do with how much I drive and how often, it just seems really random. To fix this problem, I have to turn off the car and let it sit for a minute, then when I start the car again its back to normal. Any suggestions? maxwedge 10-17-2005, 09:48 PM Get it scanned for any trans codes and trans solenoid operation, a regular scanner will not do this must have full trans diagnostic capabilities and bi directional. Abs lite sounds like a seperate issue, also can be scanned for memory codes. solid7x2 10-17-2005, 09:49 PM the trans problem only happens when the ABS light goes on. They are definately related... how much do you think itll cost to get looked at? Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
