EVOLUTION IV vs Subaru WRX STi Version III
Which one would win in a 1/4 mile, both stock standard, everything equal (e.g drivers and tyres and etc). No F*cking around, just choose either the EVO IV or the WRX STi?

i highly doubt the WRX would win, the EVO is a faster car in 0-60 and quarter mile, im not sure what the times are thou.....i do believe the EVO should be quicker, i know the EVO VII is faster than the new STI.

Like i said, no F*cking around, i don't want to hear about over EVO's or WRX's, just want to know who would win, STi Version III or EVOlUTION IV - not the I, II, III, V, VI, or VII, just the IV.

i am quite sure that records done by past drivers(including those in magazines) had shown that sti III has a slight better performance than evo iv.........
juz face the reality.........
although its true that new evos has prove to be faster than the new sti...

In the "MOTOR" mag, the compared an EVO 6.5 vs EVO 7 vs STi (the new STi). 0-100kmph, the EVO 6.5 comes out on top with 5.56 sceonds, then the STi with 6.26 Seconds and then the EVO 7 with 6.7 Seconds. Those are some pretty slow times - and i'm sure they do alot better times than that, but still the are representative of the cars performance, because they were all tested with the same driver(even if he was crap). And in the quater mile they were tested and they came 1st: EVO 6.5(13.58) , 2nd: STi(14.14), 3rd: EVO 7(14.38), this proves that the New STi is faster than the New EVO (EVO 7), but also they said that, both of the EVO's were a much more pleasurable drive than the STi any day, meaning they handled alot better.

Wow. My friend's WRX does 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in about 6 seconds. I disappointed if that's what the STi is pulling.

Yeah, it is an STi i'm talking about, and i'd state my reputation on it that it can pull in the 5 second area with ease, but i guess the driver was crap, but still, the tests were done by a single driver, so it still is valid, even if the driver was crap. So don't think that you WRX oweners can go around and start beating STi's, coz u know what the real deal is.

What does it matter? Unless your racing them on a track what reason would do you need in having the fastest car available? So one's faster then the other, when and where are you going to show it off at, at some underground street race?
