How do you get the rotors offrustbucket 10-16-2005, 07:44 PM 2000 sl2 I have tried hammering the backside, but they wont move. I think they are rusted on. Do you need to take off the axle nut? Do I need a puller? I dont remember having trouble on my buick. travelair 10-16-2005, 09:45 PM Mine fall off. Try soaking the back side with WD-40. I've had difficulty removing entire wheels from cars up north. I swear you could remove all the lug nuts and drive them all year in that condition. You don't need to remove the axle nut or anything else except the caliper which you probably have already done. sierrap615 10-16-2005, 11:32 PM screw WD-40, use PB Blaster. and hit harder, in different directions(sometimes pounding them INWARD works better) rustbucket 11-02-2005, 10:44 PM Thanks guys, Using PB Blaster soaked overnite and more aggressive hammering, the rotors came off.
