Engine block swap

I have a 95 saturn SL1 SOHC with manual transmisson and the engine block is in need of replacement. The head was recently replaced. Anyways I came by a used 2002 saturn 1.9L SOHC engine with everything still attached ( head, manifolds ect) Will this work if I used used the bare block from the 2002 saturn engine and put everything else that is on the 95 engine ? Does it matter that the 95 engine had a manual transmisson and the 2002 an automatic? Any insight would be appreciated.

Re: Engine block swap

the block itself will work, i think the crank/pistons/rods will too, keep the manual transmission
