05 Silverado 2500HD Diesel QuestionSonny01 10-14-2005, 04:02 PM I have a friend that bought a 2005 2500HD with the Allison trans and a diesel engine. The dealership told her that it had drum brakes in the back and that that was a good thing. They gave her some cock-a-mamey story but today I was looking at the truck and noticed she has disc brakes in the back. Is that better? Is that an upgrade? I always thought discs were better then drum. She pulls around about a 15,000lb horse trailer with living quarters in it without any problems. Sounds like an awesome dealer! GMMerlin 10-14-2005, 07:21 PM The HD models only came with DISC brakes The 1500 trucks came with DISC/ DRUM or DISC/DISC brakes Sonny01 10-14-2005, 07:44 PM Thanks guys! jethro_3 10-14-2005, 08:59 PM The VHO which comes on the 4x4 frame has 17" Disc/Drum.
