How do you KNoW?gwako 05-20-2002, 05:01 AM How do u know when your shocks are blown ?/??? Or time for a replacement.....??? And what are bumpstops for ? Is it bad to cut them ???/ THAnKS drift 05-20-2002, 07:53 AM the ride gets bouncy. bumpstops keep the strut top from contacting the tophat when the strut is fully compressed... prevents blowout of the inner valves. yes, on a stock strut, since it allows increased strut piston travel beyond the manufacturer's specs. for a performance strut, you wont need to cut them since they feature a shortened piston design.
