Re: sluggish acceleration

the tune up i did on my 97 at 110k did AMAZING things for performance. A COMPLETE tuneup did more for my mileage, performance, throttle responsive almost more than opening up my exhaust and intake!

do the tuneup if you got no codes and no obvious problems and you will notice the difference and your truck will feel like new again !

Re: sluggish acceleration

Sound like you need a tune up. Make sure you change your air filter as well. If its all clogged, that to can give you poor acceleration.

Re: sluggish acceleration

Fuel filter too.

And I would actually take the air intake assembly off and clean your butterfly valve on the throttle body.

Re: sluggish acceleration

Don't forget to clean the MAF sensor - just be very carefull with it use the search feature for instructions. I did mine the other day and it really improved my power and shifting especially on the low end.

Just for fun, check you MAF sensor and clean it first and see what a difference it make without doing a complete tune up, I had some acceleration and power problems 2 weeks ago , and I cleaned my MAF, and it was like driving a brand new car, thats how dirty mine was and how much a difference it made, try it out and let us know!
