97 Saturn SL2 codes and Running problemstrevordogg8 10-10-2005, 09:43 PM My wifes 97 Sl2 is throwing up these codes. p0341 camshaft position sensor,p0336 crankshaft position sensor, p0733 Gear 3 ratio incorrect,p0732 gear 2 ratio incorrect, p0783 3 to 4 shift malfunction. Currently the car will start when cold. It's idling at 1200 rpm in neutral/park and when put in gear it jumps between 2000 and 4000rpm. After a few minutes of running rpm's jump irraticly up and down and then the darn thing dies and won't refire until it's cold again. I had the motor completely rebuilt less than a year ago by a professional company due to timing chain slap and high mileage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :banghead: sierrap615 10-10-2005, 10:12 PM don't worry about the P0341 until you fix the P0336. the P0336 and stalling/no start when warm is most likely a bad crankshaft position sensor, they tend to first fail when hot. the P07XX codes could be a number of things, if you can get the engine up and running at normal temp, check the transmission fuild level and color(red is good, brown or black is bad - new transmission) did they do anything with the transmission during the rebuild? trevordogg8 10-12-2005, 12:27 PM don't worry about the P0341 until you fix the P0336. the P0336 and stalling/no start when warm is most likely a bad crankshaft position sensor, they tend to first fail when hot. the P07XX codes could be a number of things, if you can get the engine up and running at normal temp, check the transmission fuild level and color(red is good, brown or black is bad - new transmission) did they do anything with the transmission during the rebuild? I will change the Crankshaft position sensor tonight and let you know how things turn out. The transmission has never been touched.
