Possible Tranny problems??????choppy116 10-10-2005, 02:23 PM Hi All- I just purchased a 2000 JGC Limited. 63k miles... When I start from a cold start and drive away the engine revs very high but the car does not move very fast. This last for a minute or so. I dont feel the tranny slipping at all during this period or at all when driving.. If the truck is warm and I start it does not happen. This is all the time 4x4. Is this a start of a bad tranny? It came with a 30 day bumper to bumper and have about 20 days left... Thanks in advance for any help... JDPascal 10-10-2005, 03:01 PM Welcome to AF Sounds like the transmission is not up-shifting. From my experience it was the transmission fluid and with the miles you show it's time for a fluid change anyway. While you are at it, get the bands adjusted Could also be one of the sensors. Seems most of the talk centers around the throttle position sensor and the vehicle speed sensor for causing shift problems. You'll likely need to "retrain" the computer that controls the shifting after any fixes are done. Just disconnect the battery for 10-15 min to let the computer go back to the default setting and then drive it. There is a driving sequence that will retrain it faster but your normal driving will work too. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
