94 pathfinder won't start/blows meter fuses

Help!

I have replaced the starter, not the problem. The meter fuse keep blowing as soon as I turn the key to the run position.

I have traced the problem and through elimination correlated it to the white wire with black stipe coming from a connector near the + battery terminal.

I have removed connector wires to the alternator, and most of the relays. (including bulb check relay, fuel pump relay, main relay, both relays on driver's side engine compartment and the relay nearest the battery)

I don't understand where I need to go and am not close to a dealer. (1 hour away) I am stuck in the mountains and request any decent help to eamil me at [ ride_hard_ou812@yahoo.com ]

I have a job interview next week and need to get this going. All help is appreciated.

Thanks
