99 gear illumination (PRND321)

I just replaced my ignition switch the day before I took my truck to Cottman to have the trans. diagnosed which turned into a rebuild, When I got it back I noticed some gears (PND) don't highlight but the others do when selected. Could the cause be the switch I replaced or something from the Trans. when it was removed to be rebuilt? Also reverse lights don't work either now.

Sounds like your safety neutral/gear indicator/reverse light switch on the side of the transmission is messed up... Get under there and you will see a black switch with 2 harness's coming into it (on the drivers side attached to the detent). Make sure that the connections are secure. If they are, take it back to the guys who did the rebuild and let them know it worked before and they did something to the switch.

This is what the switch looks like... Dealer item only at $35.00
