Breaking Caliper Pins

On my 95 Lumina, the front drivers side caliper pins keep snapping. I've replaced them before, this is the third set counting the stock ones. I was trying to figure out what would cause this.

If it helps, there is a bit of a vibration in the brake pedal, and the steering wheel shimmy's a bit when you are going like, over fifty.

The garage we took it to, said that the ball joint (I think) on the passengers side front had some play in it, but it shouldn't really be noticeable.

Any help would be wonderful, thanks.

Any lateral play in a ball joint is too much, but that's not what's breaking your pins. The rotor may be cracked, and is causing the brake shimmy and grabbing the pads too abruptly and straining the pins.

It's possible the caliper is not seating perpendicular to the rotor for some reason, and the strain is too much. Do the pads wear "beveled" on that side or anything?
