Re: few minor problems....with 2005 cobalt

Mine did the same with the ABS in my SS/SC. I can surely say that my ABS does NOT function properly!(see the post I made in this forum called-pics of my Cobalt) I have also spoken with a few other Cobalt owners and they complain of the same ABS failure.

As for the lights dimming, I dunno. GM is notorious for having electrical problems for the last 20 or more years. I would have it looked at by GM. It won't cost you a thing, and it will document that you have a problem. If they say nothing is wrong and it still happens, bring it back. Keep bringing it back untill they fix it. If they cannot fix the problem(s) then reserch the "lemon law" and contact a lemon law lawyer.

Also, while your car is turned on and parked safely in your driveway in neutral or park, undo the steering wheel tilt lock. While the car is still running, tilt the wheel up most of the way, then give it a quick, firm(but not brutal)jerk down to the bottom of it's travel. It does not hurt or ruin your car, but you will not be pleased with the result. I bet it will be a safety recall soon.

Now then, these bugs are just things GM needs to hash out on these cars. We are working with the first models, of the first year of the vehicle, so there are bound to be some problems. Don't let them discurage you from having a potentionly great car...just yet.
