Mustangs and R32 GT-Rajrichar 10-05-2005, 12:31 AM I don't post here very much (no talent, but I enjoy looking at the work done by other members), but a friend of mine has done a few sketches lately, and I thought that his work should be posted here. Unfortunately I don't have a scanner, but I took pictures with my digital camera. I hope they are suitable for viewing. His pictures are variously of '67 Ford Mustangs, a Mustang driven in Australia by Canadian ex-pat Allan Moffat in Coca Cola livery, and my favourite car, the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R in road and race specs. The race car is from the 1992 Australian Touring Car Championship. He did the GT-R especially for me, for which I am humbled. Any C & C would be appreciated by him and I will alert him to any feedback. Cheers! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/MustangGreen1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/MustangGreen2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/MustangGreen3.jpg ajrichar 10-05-2005, 12:39 AM This second batch is of Allan Moffat's Mustang. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/MustangMoffat1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/MustangMoffat2.jpg ajrichar 10-05-2005, 12:44 AM And finally, Nissan's awesome R32 Skyline GT-R! My absolute favourite. The entire picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/Skyline-Sketch-1.jpg Detail of the Group A race car: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/Skyline-Sketch-2.jpg And the road car that spawned it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/ajrichar/Images/Skyline-Sketch-3.jpg Any comments I know will be gratefully appreciated by the artist. Thanks, ajrichar Ngati_Pakeha 10-05-2005, 05:58 AM They all look great. The only thing i noticed was the Alan Moffats mustang pic. The front wheel appears to be abit out of shape and on the racing skyline the light reflection on windscreen looks weird IMO. I have to agree that the skyline is a cool car as well. knightvision 10-05-2005, 07:47 AM He has talent, he has style - he should be an af member!! I really love the green stangs, he uses the color pencils well! On the boss, I think the nose is a bit off, imo. But his renderings skills are just awesome. Please tell him he shall join us! stuffbyalex 10-05-2005, 10:04 PM Those are some awesome renderings! His work is really clean and well proportioned. The only major thing is elipses - some are flat or a bit shaky Alex ajrichar 10-05-2005, 10:48 PM I have suggested that he visit and see the thread, so hopefully he will be able to talk 'shop' with you all about drawing cars. I know he will appreciate the comments here. I know what you mean about the front of the Moffat 'Stang - it almost seems as though there is a very slight 'cartoony' effect in how it has been shaped in the finishing. But overall, I still think it works. Thanks again for your feedback. I will let him to visit if he hasn't done so. Cheers! asaenz 10-10-2005, 04:55 PM Your friend's renderings look great! Perhaps he will joing our forum. Take care Blip 10-10-2005, 07:38 PM Those are some great drawings. He really shows the small details. 2.2 Straight six 10-10-2005, 10:58 PM wow, they're soo lifelike. that's some amazing drawing. was that all pencils or something else ? ajrichar 10-12-2005, 02:26 AM To be honest, I am not sure what materiuals he used. My suspicion is, just pencils. Surprisngly, he hasn't gotten back to me yet via email, so I still have absolutely no idea if he has visited here. I'll ask him to join up on these forums! bonzelite 10-12-2005, 01:43 PM looks like could be gouache or watercolor with pencil. or it could be all pencil. but it looks mixed. very well done. he could use some drafting boot camp, though. but this does not invalidate his stuff. it's got a nice overall feel. and is interesting to stare at. so it is successful. the mustang stuff is better done than the skyline, as the skyline is more subtle and harder to pull off correctly.
