worn out leather seats

hey what's up?
the leather seats in my 91 g20 are all messed up. they had
holes and tears and cracks in em when i bought it.
does any one know how much it would cost to buy 2 new
front seats?(or just the leather parts that need replacing)

I'm thinking about just throwing some seat covers on em though!
any suggestions as to what kind or brand would look good
with leather seats?

btw, my g is red
the seats & carpet are a greyish cream color
the dash and other things are black

thanks for any input!
later

First off welcome to AF!

As for the replacing. Why not just get it re-upholstered? It's cheaper than buying new seats. Probably will run you in the neighborhood of 75-100bucks. Depends on where you go. Shop around for a good price.

Yes! Replace the leather. As for the price, that is just a guess. You have to shop around and get an actual figure.

I did this with the leather on the driver's seat of my 91 G20. Two years ago it ran about $550 for both leather coverings (at Scottsdale's 25% discount). I did all the work myself. It takes the better part of a day to swap the coverings.

I can guarantee you that you cannot replace the leather for $75-100 unless that only includes replacing the panels that have holes.

yea george, that sounds more like a reasonable price!!!
ouch!!!!!

i may just get some seatcovers!

the only thing is, what kind will look good??

the only thing that i would guess you could throw on em
is sheepskin. I guess that would look halfway decent.

I mean i want my shit to look slick, ya know, something up
to date, but i don't know what else to do.

any suggestions?

Even though I know I said somewhere in my post that it's a guess, since I've never done it myself.

My cloth seat looked like crap. They are grey and previous owner must have been a smoker. I jus ordered used leather seats to replace mine .... The guy sent me picture and and everything ... most of the good places are in NY and NC... theft recoveries I guess... They came today and look nice .... a few smudges but with those leather cleaning tips in this forum .. I should be good to go .... try here

Thumbs up

:o Hey if your gonna spend like 5 bills for new seats why not look in to geting a set of the inexpensive sparco seats there are plenty of other brands that have sparco look a likes. The chepest set I saw was under 2 bills for some nice race car bucket seats, look into it you never know what kind of deal will pop out.

I will look for the catalog at home I know I have it some were.

Nah, get the Recaro SRD seats. Luke has a great price on them.
